Who are We?
The Malawi Milk Producers Association is the umbrella organization of the three Regional dairy associations in the country; The Shire Highland Milk Producers Association [SHMPA] in the Southern Region, the Central Region Milk Producers Association [CREMPA] in the Central Region and the Mpoto Dairy Farmers Association [MDFA] in the Northern region of Malawi.
The three associations are operating 121 Milk Bulking Groups [milk collection centers], where farmers bring their milk everyday to be cooled and collected by one of the 5 Dairy processors in the country every other day, for processing and sale to the public. The total membership of MMPA stands at 17000 members, mostly small holder Dairy Farmers with one or two dairy cows each.MMPA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected from each of the regions.

- Coordinate projects and programs with the
- Government and NGO’s to benefit all
- Promote production and consumption of dairy products
- Lobby the gvt and the Dairy Industry for a conducive environment for dairy production
- Develop the formal and informal market for dairy products
- Facilitate training of new and existing farmers
- Increase Malawi’s dairy herd through crossbreeding and pass on schemes
- Promote dairy farming as a powerful tool to alleviate poverty in Malawi
- Increase communication between farmers and all stakeholders
- Identify and help facilitate dairy research
