Malawi Milk Producers Association (MMPA) with support from We Effect on Tuesday ( 08/12/2020) handed over 21 dairy heifers to its affiliate Mpoto Dairy Farmers Association (MDFA) members.

The 21 beneficiaries were from Lusangazi and Sonda Milk Bulking Groups (MBGs) in Mzimba and Chipunga MBG in Nkhatabay. The National Director for MMPA emphasized the advantage of dairy farming compared to other value chains. “Dairy is the ONLY FARMING BUSINESS that GIVES a SALARY to a farmer for a minimum of seven months in a year.”

The National Director also advised the beneficiaries to take good care of the heifers so that more farmers can benefit from the PASS-ON program.
